In the meantime, Hendrik Hanssens, the fifth generation is at the helm of our Antwerp coffee roasting company. He acts with respect for the past, but also makes the coffee roasting house ready for the future. As an Antwerp-based coffee roasting house, St Michel has a rich history dating back to when it was founded in 1880. The first establishment was located in the shadow of the St Michel church in Antwerp, which straightforwardly explains our company name.
